Amecha Estate

This smal village called Amecha Mecheta is located in Kaffa Zone, where ‘coffea arabica’ was discovered. At this farm, coffee is cultivated on 230 hectares. After being harvested, the beans are carefully sorted before being processed. The cherry skin and the pulp are removed from the bean. After that, the beans are put into fermentation tanks for 36–48 hours. Afterward, the beans are spread out on so-called ‘African beds’ for 15 days to reduce their humidity.
